Marketplace Bootcamp looking for Black-woman-owned businesses

Future Black Female and Black Owned 905 are working together on an entrepreneurship program for young Black women entrepreneurs who are ready to take their businesses to the next level.

Apply now for Marketplace Bootcamp if your business is ready to take your products and services to market and you could use a storefront in Downtown St. Catharines to expand your customer base. Black-women between 18-25 years old who run businesses at the start-up/operational level and a prepared to commit 25-45 hours per week, including Saturdays, are eligible to apply.

Successful applicants will gain access to a fully equipped retail/service space in the Corbloc building on King Street which will feature multiple vendors throughout the program. Successful candidates will also have access to workshops, networking events and coaching and mentoring affording opportunities to develop a host of skill necessary to run a successful business, including:

  • Entrepreneurial creativity and innovation
  • Opportunity recognition, creation and evaluation
  • Decision making supported by critical analysis and judgment
  • Implementation of ideas through leadership and management
  • Reflection in action
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Communication and strategy skills
  • Resource management
