A faster, more scenic way to travel between St. Catharines and Toronto is on the horizon. Hoverlink Ontario Inc. has secured dock space near Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, marking a major step toward launching a year-round hovercraft service across Lake Ontario. This adds to the company’s existing dock location in St. Catharines.
The service will use large, climate-controlled hovercrafts that can carry up to 180 passengers. Designed to operate in all weather conditions—including ice and winter waves—these vessels will offer a reliable 30-minute ride across the lake.
Our team met with Hoverlink Ontario Inc. and other regional leaders at the Toronto Region Board of Trade, where bold ideas about the future of our waterfronts were front and centre.
At Invest In STC, we see the potential for projects like Hoverlink to be game-changers—not just for Toronto, but for St. Catharines and the Niagara Region. Fast, sustainable connections across Lake Ontario could boost tourism, attract investment, and open the door to new economic opportunities on both sides of the lake.
Waterfront innovation is regional growth. Here at Invest In STC, we're looking forward to what's ahead!
