Great news here: FedDev Ontario announced today more than $8.2 million in support for 34 tourism and community infrastructure projects in the Niagara region, including $175,000 for the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre.
Tourism is a major component of our economic development mandate. Tourism spending in Niagara is over $2 billion annually, and it is estimated that for every $10 spent on tourism activities, $7 is also spent indirectly in the community.
