
Great news here: FedDev Ontario announced today more than $8.2 million in support for 34 tourism and community infrastructure projects in the Niagara region, including $175,000 for the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre.
Tourism is a major component of our economic development mandate. Tourism spending in Niagara is over $2 billion annually, and it is estimated that for every $10 spent on tourism activities, $7 is also spent indirectly in the community.

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre is the City’s largest tourism attraction and will use its share of the FedDev funding to install new museum exhibits and make its entrance more accessible.

Niagara Health: Niagara Health upgrading CT scanner technology to improve diagnostic imaging across the region
Niagara Health is undertaking a transformative upgrade to its CT scanner fleet, bringing the most advanced diagnostic imaging equipment currently available in Canada to our hospital sites. These state-of-the-art CT scanners will be installed at the Marotta Family, Niagara Falls and Welland hospitals starting this month.
